To promote both the fitness and road safety, Fit & Able is staging a cycling safety community festival. The Moonlight Ramble will include an educational festival the evening of April 1st, the first day of Fit Cary Month, and a bike ramble on the closed roads of Bond Park. Starting and finishing at the Bond Park Community Center, the ramble will proceed around Bond Park's 3 mile loop: 1 loop for kids, 2 loops for teens, and 3 loops for adults. .
The festival will include several community education programs to promote road safety for everyone on the road: both drivers and cyclists. We will also have a clinic for young cyclists teaching them how to ride. For all cyclists, Danielle Torrenti of Torrenti Cycles will instruct everyone about properly maintaining your equipment.
Cyclist will be required to wear appropriate night riding gear, including reflective vests, bright-colored clothing (neon event shirt), and head lights. Bikes must have proper reflectors and lights. The roads will be closed during the Ramble but all cyclists are required to follow all traffic laws and rules of the road. Cyclists, as always, are responsible for their own safety and ensuring their bikes are in proper condition.
Young children in the Kids Ramble must be accompanied on the ride by a registered adult!
Cycling education clinics are free with Moonlight Ramble or Kids Ramble registration!
