In conjunction with the first #CarrieOn Award, Girls on the Run
(GOTR) of the Triangle announced the three nonprofits receiving significant donations in each winner’s name.
Each winner chose the following nonprofit for their donations:
1. Elementary school winner Elizabeth Boltz chose to donate her $200 prize to Just TRYAN IT, whose mission is to positively impact the lives of families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer by providing them with financial assistance.
2. Middle school winner Julia Boltz donated her $200 prize to Book Harvest, a nonprofit
organization that provides books to Triangle children in need.
3. Rising college freshman winner LeeAnn Lucas donated her $500 prize to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.
